Song Picks of the Day 15.52

As soon as Jesse Ruben’s velvety charming vocals set in, I was hooked on This Is Why I Need You Jesse’s new single and our Song Pick of Monday. It’s a quietly flowing song, finger picking and easy strumming on the guitar, some melodic background sounds that put the mesmerizing vocals front center and envelope the listener in a sound cloud of delightful beauty. It’s one perfectly done love song!

Listen to This Is Why I Need You now and then chime in at the chorus “You are the WHO. Love is the WHAT. And this is the WHY.”

Our Song Pick of the Day Lying To You combines airy female vocals with a thundering bass line. I could not find out much about its creator, the Swedish duo Swim, except that they work together for quite a while and now start releasing music. More please!

Sun Jun is a producer from Paris who teamed up with Geneva Arystan for the beautifully laid back track Ash after they met at a show. Our Song Pick of Wednesday.

The New Jersey four piece Milky White who used to be three members and until recently went under the name Mikey and the other Guys, have released a mini-EP for the holidays: A Milky White Christmas. This holiday edition sports their versions of xmas classics like Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree, Let It Snow and our Song Pick of Christmas Eve Baby It’s Cold Outsidefeaturing Veronika Jokel. All proceeds of A Milky White Christmas will go to the [Feel Good Foundation](http://fealgoodfoundation.com. More info on their bandcamp page

Here’s our Song Pick of Christmas Day: New York producer Blonde Maze with a fresh take on a Christmas song, complete with sleigh and church bells. More of this please!

First there’s a bit of a lonely, shimmering guitar yet when Steve Caster of Space Shark starts singing the lyrics to Now Is We one listens up: raspy, expressive and a tiny bit “dirty” vocals, on top of a quietly flowing melody, bringing this feeling of longing home.

My Song Pick of Sunday is also my favorite song of the year: Natasha Kmeto’s I Thought you Had a Boyfriend. It perfectly captures a moment when a friendship unexpectedly turned into something more. A moment when you probably feel like that swelling synth line: joyful, anxious and confused.
