U.K. alt-rockers A Festival, A Parade deliver a moody and dark, slightly sinister yet irresistibly catchy new track with “If Dogs Could Talk”. Joe Allan lets his baritone vocals set the vibe and Liam Tellum provides a crazy tempo and rhythm on drums, while Ollie Winn supplies the necessary structure with his bass and Reece Spencer makes his guitar chime like back in New Wave’s heydays. Furthermore, the quartet are featuring guest vocals by Immy Williams to lighten the overall feel. “If Dogs Could Talk” is a highly enjoyable new song for every fan of (darker) guitar-driven, melodic indie-rock and our Song Pick of Monday.

L.A. singer/songwriter Ofelia K. says about “Another World”, our Song Pick of the Day: “My vision for this song was for it to take you through different worlds, as though the listener is traveling and taking in new terrain throughout.” Mission accomplished: you don’t really know if this song is meant to be folk or electro pop, but in the end, everything fits well together. Ofelia’s EP “Chaos Cave” is out now.

On the surface, “Night School” by Los Angeles duo Bad Wave seems to be a straightforward electronic pop-song, not really upbeat but also not melancholic. But there’s so much more to the track than utilizing old synthesizer sounds and adding a ton of new ones. There are these dead-pan vocals that deliver lyrics you don’t easily hear in synth-driven music, it’s more the singer/songwriter contemplative stuff. This all makes for a highly alluring and essentially rather catchy mix. I’m totally hooked on “Night School”, and for once I enjoy hearing a swear word, the one consisting of a ‘b’ and an ‘s’ not the overused one! Not tired of “Night School”, we make it our Song Pick of the Day. Listen to the track now.

Sorcha Richardson wrote “Lost” for a friend whose girlfriend has broken up with him. That is hard to overcome, but he is lucky to have a friend who creates such a beautiful, comforting song and then even writes such nice things on the cover image. Sorcha is originally from Dublin and now based in Brooklyn. Listen to our Song Pick of Thursday now and check out her Soundcloud for more great music.

“The Blue”, the new single by U.K. four-piece Cocoa Futures, is one of these songs that grew on me after listening a few times and now I’m hooked! Frontman Greg says about the track: “It’s a good idea to feel sad sometimes, but the things you can do to avoid feeling down can be really, really fun.” and I couldn’t agree more. “The Blue” is an electronic-inspired experimental pop-track, it is gorgeous and it is our Song Pick of Friday.

Casually listening into “Red Cloud Road”, and ready to click ‘next’, I am stopped in my tracks: there’s just no escape, the bluesy, groovy guitars got me! This is a surprisingly catchy song, with its slight 60s feel yet contemporary blues-rock vibe and then these seriously unique vocals. “Red Cloud Road” is irresistibly groovy, that I played it again, and then some. This is the new single by New Jersey singer/songwriter Melissa Lucciola who performs under the moniker Francie Moon.

“Green Light” by Brooklyn singer/songwriter Cote is one of those songs that invariably lift your spirits and so it is good that it lasts for more than five minutes before it culminates in a grand finale. Enjoy your day with our Song Pick of Sunday.
