Throughout the year, Mills College Art Museum (MCAM) presents an array of public programs from contemporary exhibitions and student showcases to artist talks, performances, and our artist residency (Art + Process + Ideas). Less profiled are the activities we’re engaged in beyond the galleries.

With over 13,000 objects in our permanent collection and an exhibition archive dating back to the 1920s, Glass Cube reflects on the objects and ideas preserved within our storage vaults and vertical filing cabinets. In the spirit of inquiry and engagement, Glass Cube sheds light on art and culture in the Bay Area. Through the prism of MCAM’s historical record, we will introduce readers to stories from our archives, objects in our collection, and the people who tend to(wards) them (staff, students, and research).
