Breaking News: Glasswing Ventures Leads $5.7M Seed Round in FeatureByte
AI’s adoption across industries and sectors would not be possible without the massive amounts of data being generated today. Yet, in large enterprises and small startups alike, data scientists and engineers lose countless hours preparing and managing data for machine learning rather than working on machine learning (ML) models that enable AI efforts to scale.
Today, we are thrilled to share that Glasswing Ventures has led FeatureByte’s $5.7M Seed round. FeatureByte addresses the data preparation and management challenge head-on by radically simplifying and democratizing the messy, complex, siloed, and expensive process of creating and managing ML features, i.e., the measurable characteristics of an entity used to create machine learning models.
Gartner notes that feature engineering within data science teams is a siloed and disaggregated practice, with much of the domain context being lost or not shared among projects and teams. Organizations need a mechanism to break down these analytical silos to enable the reusability of features across ML workloads. As we witness the proliferation of intelligence across the enterprise, solving this big pain point presents a massive opportunity for value creation.
Leading the charge to capture this opportunity are FeatureByte’s Co-Founders, Razi Raziuddin, Chief Executive Officer, and Xavier Conort, Chief Product Officer. Razi and Xavier played instrumental roles in building the data science and engineering backbone for DataRobot in its earliest days and bringing the product to market. Having successfully launched AI deployments for hundreds of organizations worldwide, they uniquely understand this opportunity and are building an enduring company with a game-changing solution. We are proud to have earned their trust and are excited to support them on their mission.
In keeping with Glasswing’s thesis-driven approach to investing in intelligent applications and critical technologies, we see the potential for FeatureByte to become a category-defining platform. We are excited to partner with our friends at Tola Capital in this investment and look forward to working with the FeatureByte team as they unlock machine learning’s potential in the enterprise.
