Staying close to all of your product stakeholders helps product managers succeed, and the more that product teams can shorten feedback and iteration loops, the better. In that vein, the GLIDR team is excited to announce the release of an important new feature: the Public Portal.

GLIDR’s Public Portal feature is now live, allowing you to gather feedback from your users

With GLIDR’s Public Portal, you can give your users, and any other product stakeholders, visibility into your roadmap and capture new ideas or feedback on existing ideas from anyone, anywhere.

Your Public Portal creates a space for your users and internal stakeholders to share ideas and feedback, giving the product team more data points and signal on which to prioritize the roadmap. For users, that gives them a voice in improving the product and a place to discover new features in the product. At the same time, it gives the product team a better way to communicate with the rest of their company about the direction of the product and celebrate the work that has been completed.

With your Public Portal, you take a big step towards practicing the kind of continuous discovery that elevates the world’s best product teams.

So, what exactly is possible with your GLIDR Public Portal?

Take in feedback from anyone, anywhere

Your public roadmap will allow your product management team to more efficiently collect and analyze user feedback

Gathering quality feedback used to be cumbersome. It felt like shoulder-tapping. You’d have to be careful not to ask the same people too many times. It also meant that your user feedback came in batches, since your team had to create discrete outreach projects.

Now your users can provide feedback on their own terms, viewing your public roadmap whenever they’d like and commenting as they choose.

That frees up valuable product management team time that is better spent on the strategic analysis of your inbound feedback. It also means that you have a continuing pipeline of valuable feedback instead of it arriving in infrequent batches.

Intelligent prioritization is one of the most important aspects of product management. With all of this new evidence coming in from your newly established public portal, it allows your product prioritization to be more intelligently data-informed than ever.

All of these feedback pipeline benefits apply to internal stakeholders as much as they do to users. Your product team can now collect valuable feedback from teams like customer success, sales, and senior leadership.

If you’re thinking that some aspects of your roadmap are too sensitive to expose publicly, keep in mind that you have the control to open up only specific parts of your roadmap to specific groups of stakeholders outside of GLIDR. Who sees what is up to you.

Gather new feature ideas from your crowd

Gather new feature ideas from your stakeholders and users

The nature of the feedback isn’t limited to ideas that are already on your roadmap either. You can just as easily capture new feature requests and weigh the evidence as you decide what actually makes it on to your roadmap. This provides your users and internal stakeholders with an active voice in the product direction by providing an easy way for them to submit ideas for new features and rate their importance. The more your users and internal stakeholders feel heard and involved, the more invested they’ll be in your product.

When submitting new feature requests (or any other feedback for that matter), your users will be asked to rate their submission on a five-point emoji scale. For continuity throughout the GLIDR experience, this is the same mechanism we use when members of your product team are rating any other piece of evidence. The rating system will help your product team evaluate all of the feedback coming in from your public portal.

Since you’ve now given your users and internal stakeholders a greater sense of agency in your product strategy and roadmap, they’ll be more empathetic to the prioritization decisions and tradeoffs your team has to make.

Share what you’re building and what’s already been built

Share and celebrate your product management and engineering successes so that everyone can see what you’ve shipped

It’s vital to communicate to users and internal stakeholders what you are working on and what is coming next. Your public portal in GLIDR will increase the transparency of (the public elements of) your roadmap. This greatly helps to eliminate surprises and set expectations.

For your users and internal stakeholders, this enhanced visibility into your product roadmap lets them see the momentum and trajectory of your product strategy, including what you are building now, what is coming next, and what you are considering.

Your product and engineering teams additionally benefit from the increased pride and morale that comes from having their accomplishments publicly promoted. It gives you the opportunity to celebrate as a team, showcasing the product team’s accomplishments, while giving users another way to discover important new features you have added to the product.
