Hey there, Glitchers! As the months continue to blaze by, so does the GLITCH development. We’re heading into Q3 with many significant milestones checked off, with more to come in the coming weeks and months. Let’s jump right into it.

June Recap

People Update

Good news, Glitchers! Zoe, our talented HR consultant, was hired a month ago and is helping us fill our open positions. Starting next month, we’ll have an expert Scrum Master on the tech team and a creative Copywriter on the marketing team. We can’t wait to introduce them to you all.

There are many open positions at Glitch, and you may view each role requirement on our website by clicking here.

Technology infrastructure progress

The Glitch development team has been working non-stop to deliver the next set of network upgrades to the testnet and the mainnet. View the latest roadmap breakdown updates completed on June 24. Currently, the team is prioritizing the following:

Testnet v.2.1: The ability to support 21 validators is functioning well. The team is running 16 of them and one by a community member, allowing another five community validators eligible for election. Internal performance testing has begun.

Mainnet v.1.1: The team is working on fixing the blocker bugs we discussed in our June AMA to allow the public to run a node. These bugs have been tough to resolve, but we believe we’re getting there. Internal performance testing has begun.

Browser-extension wallet: The team has finished the UI design around the functionality to switch between the testnet and the mainnet networks. Additionally, the UI design to sync the EVM and Substate GLCH address to the wallet is complete; both functionalities are pending development. Switching and binding between testnet and mainnet address will go live once the public can spin up their mainnet nodes.

With all the hard work in the background, the team is also in its initial planning stage for Phase IV. We are confident we can begin planning for this as Phase III nears its completion.

Marketing & Community

The Glitch marketing team has been hard at work behind the scenes preparing several campaigns to push as tech comes close to completing the remainder of Von Hayek and begins its planning for Phase IV. These campaigns will support tech development and include organic content, growth hacking, and targeted advertising.

On June 20, CTO Diego E. C., Marketing Manager Aram H., and Social Media Specialist Rebecka C. took the stage on YouTube live to discuss what comes next and addressed as many community questions as possible. To watch the session, click here, and to read the recap on Twitter, click here.

Unstake your GLCH on BSC today

The GLCH single-sided staking campaign on the BSC network has now expired. If you have any GLCH tokens locked in the staking contract, click here to unstake them. Please remember that there is a 24-hour cooldown period to unstake your assets. The GLCH rewards pool on the ETH network will conclude on July 7, so there are still several more days before that campaign ends.

July Preview

Since the GLITCH genesis block on both the mainnet and the testnet, there have been 2M blocks mined and 6,000 unique users testing the network. Thank you to everyone who is actively participating! You’re making it easier for us to find and resolve the unknown vulnerabilities. We are calling on you to continue testing the network. What better way to do this than to launch a node on testnet?

July is a month dedicated to building. The roadmap breakdown is updated bi-weekly basis; therefore will receive another update shortly.

In the coming weeks, the team will resolve those pending blocker bugs, transition the active nodes from testnet to mainnet, and begin sharing the details to run a mainnet node, which may include additional documentation and requirements like how much GLCH is needed.

“There’s so much testing that needs to be done we want to make sure everything is as perfect as possible — especially with all these exploits and such things happening in the DeFi space right now it’s essential to take our time and do it right.” — Diego E. Cruces, CTO, Glitch Finance

Until next month,
