Hello Glitchers!

Welcome to another monthly newsletter from Glitch HQ. Who’s ready to set up a validator node on the Testnet v.2? The team has had their heads down building for the launch of Phase II: Von Mises on March 14, 2022.

Until launch day, all of our energy will be focused on internal performance testing and setting up the infrastructure for a successful release. There’s a lot to look forward to this month, so let’s dive right into it.

February Recap

Technology

Stake GLCH, receive GLCH

Are your GLCH tokens sitting on a wallet? Last week, users started to put their GLCH tokens to work for passive rewards through a single-sided staking pool via the Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain networks, supported by the AllianceBlock LMaaS. This is a 120-day temporary campaign to say thank you to our strong community members. The Ethereum pool filled up within 4 hours, but there is still 29% availability to stake on the Binance Smart Chain, and this may be your last chance to enter before it reaches capacity. If your holdings are on Ethereum, you can bridge them over to Binance Smart Chain utilizing the user-friendly and secure Glitch bridge. So move quickly and start earning a base APY% of 5.77% before time runs out.

Glitch x DePo

It’s official: The Glitch and DePo teams have teamed up to form a long-term partnership. Upon the public GLITCH mainnet launch, DePo will integrate GLITCH ecosystem products, including the Bridge and Wallet, and feature GLITCH as a primary chain and all dApps built on the network. This is an exciting opportunity for both projects to drive ecosystem revenues and volume.

Mainnet v.1 infrastructure demos

Last month, the development and marketing teams released a step-by-step demo video setting up a validator and a nominator on the GLITCH mainnet v.1. Click here to view the video recording. Be sure to subscribe to the Glitch Protocol Youtube Channel and turn on notifications to stay updated for future videos.

Technology infrastructure progress

The team has been working on the testnet v.2.0 while monitoring the internal mainnet v.1.0. Upon the Phase II launch, the testnet v.1 and its products (Glitch Explorer, Wallet, and Faucet) live on the official website will be taken down and replaced with the testnet v.2.

Developer Documentation: The GLITCH developer documentation is in its verification stage. Documentation is being uploaded to GitBook and released in phases over the next few months, starting on March 14. The validator documentation will be published first.

Testnet v.2: Phase II development of the blockchain core, Glitch explorer, faucet, and wallet v.2 is complete, and everything is now under internal performance testing. The bug list on UAT has been re-verified and resolved, leaving us with no current blockers. In addition, the development of the browser-extension wallet is complete, and the team is preparing to submit it to the Google Chrome web store. Users can expect to set up, run, and monitor a test validator node using the testnet v.2 products as planned. Basic developer background is required to set up a test validator node. The team is exploring node deployment within a few clicks and may be offered for the public mainnet launch.

Mainnet v.1: The team has been internally monitoring and testing the mainnet v.1 network. The network still has four validator nodes confirming blocks, and that number will continue to increase over time. When it comes to our engagements with Kurtosis, the team will sign the contract and finish the onboarding process of a new team hire. With the final requirements complete and a signed contract, the team will set up the necessary infrastructure to begin the automated stress testing. The Glitch and Kurtosis teams will be making an official statement when the engagements begin. Until then, the team will continue with internal QA.

Marketing & Community

Did you catch last month’s AMA? On February 15, the Glitch leadership team hosted the first YouTube Live AMA. To watch the session, click here, and to read the recap, click here.

Earlier last month, the Glitch BeNeLux community had launched and will be run by a few of our Dutch-speaking community advocates. Glitch BeNeLux encompasses our community in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Please join the regional Telegram channel and follow the Twitter community if you speak Dutch or aspire to speak it.

The team has been working on a roadmap breakdown that will serve to follow the development progress better. That roadmap breakdown is complete and is being added to the website. We’ve decided to release the Phase II progress right now, seen below in the March preview.

March Preview

Technology

Since the genesis block, 500K+ blocks have been mined on the mainnet, which is currently internal. And while you wait for the public mainnet in phase III, why not opt into earning rewards?

On March 14, users can expect to set up, run, and monitor a validator node. Leading up to the launch, the team will announce the necessary documentation to ensure that setting up a node goes without a hitch. If you’re a developer or aspiring to be one, we invite you to get involved.

The team has decided to release the Phase II: Von Mises roadmap breakdown below in a continued effort to provide transparency.

Phase II: Von Mises live development updates. Almost to the finish line.

Marketing & Community

This month, the team will upload the roadmap breakdown for Phases II, III, and IV on the official website. Once live, it will be updated bi-weekly. In terms of Phase II, additional updates will be shared as they become available.

The team will continue the ongoing educational campaign “Learn GLITCH” on Twitter. There are plans to host more AMAs focusing on geographic and language-specific community-building efforts to drive growth. The leadership team will hold the official AMA on March 16 on Youtube Live. The Glitch Indonesia and Africa community Telegram AMAs will occur on the third week of the month.

Lastly, in terms of partnerships, we’re exploring an opportunity that could open the doors for GLITCH to bridge users from traditional finance into the decentralized financial world.

These are exciting times for Glitch as we inch closer each day to realizing yet another major milestone! Keep an eye out for our comprehensive Q1 2022 technology report next month, and stay tuned to our Twitter and Telegram channels for further updates.

Until next month,

— Team Glitch
