Brief Description of Organization: Uplinx Techub is an organization based in Nigeria that provide solutions in ICT, human capital development and clean, renewable energy especially in solar energy. Uplinx Techub is a Presidential Award winning organization that supports individual, private and public organizations. We help organizations develop processes that reduce operational bottlenecks using web/software applications, build computer network with internet broadband, and design and deploy effective solar power solutions.

What inspired you to start this organization? I was inspired by the need for ICT solutions and the drive to create jobs. At the time of my graduation, the rate of unemployment increasing and there were gaps in ICT solution providors. So I decided not to join the “wagon” of unemployed graduate but to carve a niche, meet the growing ICT need and create jobs to reduce unemployment in my country and Africa.

What is the next big step you hope to help your organization reach?

The next big step I want to help my organization reach is to launch our brand of solar power smart product that will provide over 20million sub-Saharan Africans access to clean energy in the next 5years. It will be a complete interactive solar power smart solution for households in both rural and urban areas, small & medium enterprises and for agricultural purposes.

What has been your biggest obstacle as an entrepreneur? Developing a skillful workers with positive character to help create a world class business model while remaining local. I have since learnt skills needed to spot and retain skillful workers with positive character. Today, we access people on the strength of their character first and then their skill.

What advice would you give other emerging entrepreneurs? My advice to the emerging entrepreneur is that they should develop capacity needed for business success as early as possible. They should keep looking for opportunity to Become, Do so that they can Have.
