Brief description of Organization: We believe every recipe has a story and we are documenting these food stories of Pakistanis by the help of the talented women home cooks. We believe in providing digital and economical empowerment to the women who constitute 52% of this country’s population of nearly 200 million. We are trying to achieve this by giving home cooks the chance to sell their food through Chefling Kitchen- an app enabled platform that connects their kitchen to a huge market of foodies looking for tasty and clean food.
What inspired you to start the organization: Food is one thing that brings together people from different ethnicity and beliefs around a table. I aspire to showcase the diverse regional cuisines of Pakistan to the world. In my journey, I worked with talented home cooks, especially women creating wonders with recipes passed over to them over generations. I wanted to help these women achieve economic empowerment through a digital platform.
What is the next big step you hope to help your organization achieve: The next big step is the roll out of Chefling Kitchen where we empower women home cooks to start earning from their cooking skills through a sustainable digital eco-system.
What has been your biggest obstacle as an entrepreneur: As an entrepreneur the biggest challenge is to keep yourself motivated through the resource and financial crisis and remain steadfast and focused toward your goals.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs: If you believe in your entrepreneurial dream, keep working toward it. It’s not only the success that counts; it’s the fact that you lived your life working hard for something you are passionate about. This is what keeps me going!
