What is SOC 2?
SOC 2 is a comprehensive external audit carried out by an independent CPA that closely analyses a company controls and systems for managing user data in accordance to five “trust service principles” as established by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA):
- Security
- Availability
- Processing
- Integrity
- Confidentiality
- Privacy
SOC 2 certification is only awarded to businesses that can demonstrate their ability to meet the institute’s highest standards across each of those categories.
Additionally, the Type II report we received isn’t just a one-off evaluation. It’s an exhaustive audit of our performance over the course of an extended period of time to ensure long term effectiveness—in our case, over 6 months.
For GlobaliD, achieving our SOC 2 Type II certification is a huge deal and an awesome validation of our team’s thoughtful, persistent efforts.
