1. How did the concept behind the live session came about?

I usually gig most weekends but due to current circumstances I have started delving into Facebook and Instagram lives! Shodement asked me if I wanted to join them on making this live session where I’ll be singing some originals, covers and unreleased music too! As well as doing a Q&A at the end!

2. You’ve said that creating Frenemy single was a big highlight. Can you bring us back to the moment?

Frenemy was so much fun to create! I started writing it a couple of years ago in my bedroom and then I took the song to a songwriting camp at Karma Sound Studios in Thailand and we developed the song and made it so much better — I worked with Rhys Fletcher and Ruth Kelly. I later went back to Thailand and we made it even stronger with the help of Mark Smith and Bill Padley! I really feel that this song was the starting point for the whole project, so it feels great to have it out!

3. “This Time” is one of our favorite songs. What’s your relationship with the producer behind it?

Aww I’m really glad you like it! So the producer for this one was also Rhys Fletcher — who produced my latest single Frenemy! I met Rhys for the first time on the Songwriting camp in Thailand and we have worked together quite a lot since! He is a great writer and producer!

4. Who are some of the artists in Stoke we should be excited about?

Wow that’s a hard one because there is so much great talent around Stoke! I listen to BBC Introducing from Stoke most weeks and its insane how many great tracks are coming from Staffordshire and Cheshire! Some of my favourites include The Kind, Jay Johnson, Megan Dixon Hood, Honey and Behind The Moon!

5. Does being a female in a male dominated industry affect your art?

Personally, I don’t think it affects my art as what I write would be the same I think! But I think it does affect growing a fan base sometimes, as you can see from this years festival line ups — there was barely any females on them, which is just so sad to see in this day and age! Especially as I know so many talented female artists — so this saying ‘there’s a shortage’ is just not true at all!

6. What do your parents think?

My parents have been so supportive — I started gigging when I was 15 and they have helped me week in and week out with getting me to gigs and helping carry equipment etc! I’m very lucky to have them support me like this! My dad was a little wary when I said I wanted to write my own music though, just purely because it’s an unreliable job especially in the early stages but I think my dedication has proven that there’s no chance I’m backing down haha!

7. At what point while you were producing did you decide you want to sing?

I have never actually produced! I started singing when I was young and did a lot of musical theatre as a child, but I only decided I wanted to write my own music when I was about 18!

8. What do you hope your legacy will be?

I just want to be the best version of myself and create music that I love and other people love!

9. You have the Living Room with Darla Jade experience coming this month. What can the fans expect?

Yes! I’m really excited to be doing this! I will be performing some originals, covers and some unreleased music! I will also be doing a Q&A also so we can all get to know each other! It’s going to be awesome!

10. How can fans follow you on social?
