This year, International Women’s Day is going to be even more special for me. Here’s why.

I am honoured and delighted to share that I’ll be speaking on 3 occasions in Oslo on International Women’s Day — 8th March. What a fantastic country, known for key advances in Gender Diversity, to be in on this special day!

Stretch Inspirational Breakfast

I am delighted to have been invited by Kristin Hedqvist-Widen CEO & Partner of Stretch Consulting firm, to speak at their Inspirational breakfast in the morning, alongside 2 other speakers. What a great way to start the day!

Then its over to …

SHE Conference

First stop before lunch will be a lightening talk at the SHE Arena- She Invests, where I’ll be inspiring more people to take the plunge and become investors before the main event as a keynote at SHE conference sharing the stage with outstanding people such as the Prime Minister of Norway #ErnaSolberg, Olympic gold medalist #TiannaBartoletta, Founder & CEO of Singularity University Nordic #LailaPawlak, Founder #HeidiAven, #SangbreetaMoitra fellow TEDx speaker and more.

The theme of the conference this year is FACE YOUR FEAR and I will be encouraging more women to face theirs and become investors to invest in more women-led startups, to help change the world and re-ignite the global economy. Yes you can make the leap and start investing in startups. I’ll be sharing 4 first steps you can take to do just that.

Norway certainly is leading the way when it comes to gender diversity at work and in parliament, and yet, as many other countries, has some way to go when it comes to funding female-led startups. Even though there some angel networks and crowdfunding websites exist, there is a huge opportunity for more people to become angel investors and invest in innovative Norwegian startups solving key problems. Heidi Aven, Founder of She Conference is on a mission to help stimulate the angel investment community in Norway and am looking forward to being a part of spreading the word to encourage more women and men to become investors and invest in female founders.

Like everywhere, there are some great Female Founders in Norway and in the Nordics as you can see below.

Clockwise from left: Agnes Dyvik, VIO; Anita Schjøll Brede, Iris.ai; Christine Spiten, Blueye; Ingrid Ødegaard, Appear.in.

At SHE Conf, I look forward to meeting many more, as well as those thinking of taking the leap. We are expecting and audience of over 1500 — it’ll be a spectacular day of inspiration.
