Generative AI, Quantum Computing, the Invisible Bank, Hyper-automation, Cybersecurity, and Immersive 3D Experiences are among the trends poised to shape this year’s tech agenda, according to projections from the company.

  1. GENERATIVE AI EVERYWHERE

Generative AI has garnered more global attention than the Super Bowl or any other event, with sustained investment from tech giants aligning accordingly. In 2023, ChatGPT swept all the awards, dazzling the masses with its supreme capabilities, which, of course, spurred massive interest, marking the dawn of a new era.

In 2024, organizations of all sizes will continue to explore and apply Generative AI in novel ways to enhance user experience and optimize their value chain processes. AI will profoundly impact how we work and live, yielding tangible benefits for those companies that strategically adopt the technology.

AI will completely redefine the customer experience. There will be a significant evolution in the use of generative AI to improve customer interaction, and unlike in previous years, the focus will be on reducing the user’s perception of AI. Its integration will be so seamless in digital products that users will barely notice its existence.

2. DATA CAPITAL ON THE RISE

The massive accumulation of data by companies in the last decade has now become a valuable resource for powering AI. Large amounts of previously considered useless unstructured data will transform into crucial tools for understanding purchasing trends, customer behavior, and much more. By starting to make sense of them, a significant advantage in decision-making will be generated, substantially improving the hyper-personalized user experience.

3. QUANTUM COMPUTING (OR WHEN FICTION BECOMES REALITY)

Quantum computing, once relegated to the realm of science fiction, will take firm steps towards its practical implementation between 2024 and 2030. It will find applications in fields such as AI and cloud computing, cryptography, and industries like Finance and Pharma. In 2024, many organizations will begin to understand how quantum computing could impact their business. In medicine, quantum computing could enable the modeling of complex molecular structures, speeding up the discovery of drugs and pharmaceuticals. In industry, quantum simulations could provide insights into new materials and processes that could take years to discover through experimentation.

4. THE INVISIBLE BANK

The banking industry will be characterized by the growing adoption of AI and machine learning technologies that enhance personalization and decision-making in the financial realm. Why invisible? Because there will be a reduction in human intervention in providing financial services, and they will be incorporated into the daily routine of customers. Transactional and behavioral data will be leveraged to offer more personalized and tailored solutions, even before the user is aware of those needs.

Additionally, the use of chatbots for all interactions will increase, from providing instant responses to financial queries to conducting transactions, meaning the traditional physical bank will continue to disappear.

5. INDUSTRIAL HYPER-AUTOMATION & LABOR TRANSFORMATION

Driven by the convergence of IoT, edge computing, AI, and 5G/6G technologies, this year will witness advancements in predictive maintenance, real-time monitoring, automated inventory control, and real-time data analysis for optimization and demand prediction with AI algorithms. The efficiency, competitiveness, and overall performance of industrial companies will be elevated, and the supply chain will experience a revolution in hyper-automation.

The proliferation of digital twins is producing a total shift in almost all aspects of planning, problem-solving, logistics, and customer service and, consequently, the relationship between all the parties that make up the value chain including the role of humans in it and their necessary capabilities.

6. IMMERSIVE 3D EXPERIENCES

In a scenario where the metaverse has yet to find its practical use, with several failed attempts that did not meet its goals of conquering everyday interactions, immersive 3D experiences based on VR/AR (Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality) emerge again as a key figure to make a differential and captivating user experience. This advancement is obviously supported by 5G and IoT technologies.

Major market players are launching or plan to launch new versions of their VR/AR devices during 2024, such as Apple with the Apple Vision Pro or XReal with the XREAL Air 2 Ultra. Interoperability between platforms and the integration of these devices into everyday or work tasks will be key to achieving their mass adoption.

7. AI-DRIVEN CYBERSECURITY

The cyber threat landscape is undergoing rapid evolution, and in 2024, the application of AI will be crucial to strengthen defenses against attacks that also rely on such technology. Companies will start adopting innovative approaches to detect never-before-seen threats and manage emerging risks.

Experimentation and adoption of AI-based solutions will be key to navigating the challenges the area will face, such as hyper-personalized phishing, deep-fake, and AI BOT attacks.
