GRLI Partner ISCTE has announced a new MBA in sustainable management, accredited by AMBA, and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals to prepare leaders who will help move the 2030 Agenda forward.

As director of the MBA in Sustainable Management, Ana Simaens seeks discussion about potential collaborations for the program with other GRLI Partners and Associates. She also encourages GRLI colleagues to spread the word to potential international student participants.

According to Ana, “This program is created from scratch to provide a unique way to combine a strong and scientific and practical component in the areas of management and sustainability, aiming to contribute to provide an answer to problems of a varied and increasingly interconnected nature, which are faced by managers, executives, and professionals responsible for making decisions in this context.”

Program features include:

  • A Global Responsibility focus, combining the knowledge, skills, and attitude development activities that promote more sustainable management of organizations.
  • A full-time experience (12 months + 3 months of the applied project) to allow immersion in sustainability issues in a holistic way, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, and
  • A commitment to bring together national and international participants, academics, companies, networks, and organizations linked to sustainability to discuss critical and current issues.

Collaborations with GRLI colleagues are already underway to develop learning and networking opportunities within the program, including with Florencia Librizzi, SDG Academy Head of Programs and Partnerships. Additionally, Claire Maxwell, GRLI Board Chair; Dean Sanjay Sharma, Grossman School of Business at the University of Vermont, and Carol Adams, GRLI Advisor, professor and author, are planning to contribute to seminars.

For more information, and to explore potential ways to collaborate, please contact Ana Simaens, Assistant Professor and Deputy director, Department of Marketing, Operations and General Management, ISCTE at ana.simaens@iscte-iul.pt.
