A new graduate level, international course co-presented by eight GRLI Partner and Associate Partner institutions, as a GRLI Gateway Initiative, is now underway with the goal of launching a March-May 2022 pilot course.

The idea for the the Globally Responsible Leadership for Sustainable Transformation course was conceived collaboratively at 2021 GRLI Deans Cohort meetings, out of a proposal by Wayne Visser, Professor of Integrated Value and holder of the Chair in Sustainable Transformation at Antwerp Management School. The project seeks to explore how the expertise from multiple institutions that are committed to Global Responsibility could be offered to students everywhere.

As a new GRLI gateway initiative this pilot demonstrates the GRLI’s approach to catalysing collective action for impact.

This innovative global collaborative course will be taught by faculty from universities and institutions in Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.
Highlighting sustainability initiatives, this team taught seminar will offer modules from each institution that will enable students from around the globe to work in integrated groups on strategic business projects.

The course will have live and asynchronous components.

The participating institutions confirmed to date and course content they will offer are:

  • Antwerp School of Management, Belgium (Cohort Associate)
Thriving: The Breakthrough Movement to Regenerate Nature, Society and the Economy
  • Católica Porto Business School, Portugal (Cohort Associate)
    Cross-sector Partnerships for Impact
  • Colorado State University, United States (Cohort Associate)

    Sustainability Accounting and Reporting
  • Queensland University of Technology, Australia (GRLI Associate Partner)

    Title to be confirmed

Now co-coordinated through three working groups lead jointly by Jeff Thies (Loyola Marymount University) and Wayne Visser (Antwerp Management School), pilot planning meetings are held biweekly by Zoom to co-ordinate efforts.

GRLI Partners and Associates who are interested in joining the second round of this groundbreaking initiative are welcome to contact John North, john.north@grli.org.
