The conversation has started! 2015 Innovation Cohort

One of the engines driving GRLI work is the Innovation Cohort — a co-learning opportunity for global peers from management education and business. This hands-on program enables management educators, leadership developers and organisational leaders to innovate and transform their own organisations and offerings as well as the management education ecosystem.

In order to kick-start the next cohort intake and set the outline agenda for its work, the GRLI convened a “Conversation Starter” meeting on 7th June 2015 in Brussels. GRLI invited management educators, leadership developers and organisational leaders that wish to innovate their own organisations and impact the broader management education ecosystem. As a result, ten representatives from internationally renowned businesses and business schools gathered in Brussels to explore potential synergies between their individual and institutional initiatives aimed at developing globally responsibility in and through management education.

The group included Deans, Directors and Senior Academics representing the following organisations:

  • OCP Group
  • Jönköping International Business School
  • Louvain School of Management
  • Tecnológico de Monterrey — EGADE
  • Universidad de los Andes
  • Maastricht University
  • The Asian Institute of Management
  • Sukkur Institute of Business Administration
  • Antwerp Management School
  • EBS Business School

The main objectives of this meeting were to:

  • Share experiences and understanding of the previous intake and locate the role and potential work of the next Cohort within the context of GRLI and the 50+20 vision
  • Advise and inform potential participants regarding the Cohort’s work approach and provide a taste of how this peer-based and action-oriented learning experience functions

Following interactive “Whole Person” introductions and some context around GRLI and 50+20 the group quickly moved towards sharing potential projects or avenues of inquiry which the Cohort as a whole may be interested in considering.

The group quickly identified potential joint Cohort projects including an enquiry into the role of student as catalyst for responsible management education and an idea to measure awareness of global responsibility of students and alumni.
