We opened up the floor to our global community last week and gave our members a chance to present to the world some of the exciting things they’re working on in the world of tech. We gave each speaker 5 minutes to speak about the issues they’re facing and what they’re doing to address them. Below are 5 summaries of some of our community members’ projects.

Renny Kurian — Blockchain Consultant at Ennovasys

Renny is working on a technology that will bring Blockchain to social coupons.

Neil Ribeiro — CEO, Apptivate Africa

Neil is working on feeding workers in Kenya with a digital meal voucher. The country has 41% smartphone penetration. The problem is that employers cannot feed and many employees end up skipping lunch altogether. Many food merchants, therefore lose a big potential market.

They are looking to expand the service in various African countries — Uganda, Zambia, Ghana, SA, Tanzania, Nigeria, etc.

Victor Salinas — CEO, Aiontech

Victor is working on a financial passport for study abroad to help international students settle overseas. This will simplify the process to pay for things like tuition and daily fees when studying abroad. Many students have to go through the long process of opening a bank account in that country. The financial passport will make it easier to withdraw cash and liquidate their funds.

Victor is looking to connect with various educational institutions to form partnerships.

Muqsith Ahmadi — CEO, Dvorestky

Muqsith is exploring the use of gamification to improve sales teams. Many sales teams are very individualistic — this is an effort to improve relations among a sales team by making them work better together as they compete to get points. The company is based in Jakarta, Indonesia and is looking for more opportunities to expand in other countries.

Alejo Menendez — CEO, E-Fecto

Alejo is working on a product that will enable electronic payments for semi-urban and rural areas in Mexico. Their market is over 2 million people with no access to digital solutions for payment. They are looking to complete funding for the initiative.
