We opened up the floor to our global community again last week and gave our members a chance to present to the world some of the exciting things they’re working on in the world of tech. We gave each speaker 5 minutes to speak about the issues they’re facing and what they’re doing to address them. Below are 5 summaries of some of our community members’ projects.

Allen Kambuni — Director, Over The Mobile

Allen is working on mobile technologies to transform the way Africa does trade. They focus on retail and connecting the supplier to the supply chain. They are trying to solve several problems within the African trade industry, including disorganization in pricing and stock units, no direct link between the start and end of the supply chain, availability of products within the chain and more.

Their mobile platform allows consumers to buy directly from sales reps and manufacturers. They are currently looking to develop a 3-year plan to present to investors.

Aushim Merchant — Plastics

Aushim is working on utilizing plastics for maximum economic value. They are looking to spread popularize a polymerization technique to make plastics that does not emit any harmful gases into the environment. They are looking for partners and collaborators to utilise their plastics-making machines.

Travin Singh — Founder, CRUST

Crust recycles fresh surplus ingredients and morphs them into CRUST beers, giving them a new lease of life. Their mission is to reduce global food waste by 1% by 2030. The value of food wasted worldwide is enormous. Just in Japan, over $100 billion in food is wasted each year.

Their target market is B2B — they create relationships with grocery stores, take their wasted food and create a new product they can sell. They are looking to team up with digital platforms to sell their products.

Riefat Trifany — Chief Product Officer, PT

Riefat works in agricultural technology in Indonesia. They want to spread their more sustainable agricultural techniques throughout Asia. Cities consume a ton and need to maximize the utility of their available space. Urban farming can reduce costs associated with food availability by 70%. The quality of these products can increase by 25%.

They are looking to team up with sustainable NGOs to implement these urban farming technologies in their communities

Marina Korina — Founder, Filipina Homebased Moms

Marina’s online community of freelancer and entrepreneur moms has grown to over 22,000 members worldwide. She has created a one-stop-shop online platform to service her community. It includes job matching, e-commerce, e-learning and advertising. It has seen a boost in activity since the pandemic began and 33% lost their jobs.

Victor Salinas — CEO, Aiontech

Victor is working on a financial passport for study abroad to help international students settle overseas. This will simplify the process to pay for things like tuition and daily fees when studying abroad. Many students have to go through the long process of opening a bank account in that country. The financial passport will make it easier to withdraw cash and liquidate their funds.

Victor is looking to connect with various educational institutions to form partnerships.
