Globatalent announced a new partnership, which will provide young tennis players the opportunity to develop their careers while fans will be able to invest in their future.
The big news came from Barcelona, where last tuesday there was a press conference between Sunil Bhardwaj, Ferrán Martínez -Globatalent CEO and CSO- and Jordi Tamayo -president of the Catalan Tennis Federation- to announce a brand new Tokenization agreement.
During the conference in the ‘Museu del Tennis Català’, Bhardwaj stated: “Globatalent has updated the traditional model of private financing for athletes. The blockchain technology allows to chart all the economic investments as well as the career of the sportsman and allows to see if the goals marked to receive financing are being fulfilled or not”.
Every tennis player that has the Catalan Federation’s license will be able to apply for a Tokenization in Globatalent platform, where thousands of users support different sports projects for future stars.

“This agreement allows our players to capture the economic resources necessary to compete and make the leap to professionalism. In an individual sport, the investment is as fundamental as it is vital, and we have even seen great talents not reach the professional level because they can not afford the economic cost of maintaining a sports career”, explained Tamayo.
“The player that receives financing will have indicated, previously to this financing, the way in which it will reward its investors, through the distribution of a percentage of his prizes in cash or with emotional assets like sharing a private training”, added Martínez.
With this agreement, FCT -for its catalan name, ‘Federaciò Catalana de Tennis’- is now a Crypto pioneer in Spain. For Globatalent, this provides an excellent opportunity to bring more talented young players to the first Sports Exchange, where the goal remains to be the same: put an end to inequality in Sports.
