COVID-19 has been decisive for stablecoins. We already expected a stablecoins booming in the next years; but the global crisis has rushed this escalation into a space of a few months, in which the convenience of a stable means of payment has become clear and evident. The supply of stablecoins has swelled by 94% in the past months, and the total market cap is over $10 billion. We feel excited and proud to bring you updates from our basket-stablecoin GLX while this is happening!
NEW SERVICE: Dynamic Hedging Program
A new hedging service allowing a safe exposure in cryptocurrencies has been announced by our partner Optiminvest, a company founded by Globcoin CEO Helie d’Hautefort. The main objectives of the program are risk reduction and return improvement. The combination of a large experience in active hedging and the deep knowledge of the BTC ecosystem bring the best of both worlds to this new service. As Globcoin, we will also benefit from this service as some clients opt for a hedging into GLX instead of against USD or EUR , to remain on a crypto environment while GLX is perfectly stable. NEW TALENT: Welcome to Globcoin!
Even in times of crisis; we’re looking to adapt and improve our project. That’s why we keep adding new talents to our team! We’re very glad to welcome Joris Bastien to Globcoin’s task force as a valuable advisor to several projects. He is based in Connecticut, United States, the home of many successful hedge funds and his own independent firm Quantaraxia, offering and customized quantitative investment solutions. There, he has spent the last 10 years working with the best quantitative teams.
We’re also happy to welcome Audrey Charmant! She specializes in new forms of digital finance. This is her blog if you want to take a look. And young Karolina Gorna (head of Paris Department at KriptoSphere) is joining us as a project analyst. She is already working full time on various strategic projects that will be communicated to our community in a few weeks.
Joining forces with the best in the industry
Our CEO Helie d’Hautefort has a +20 years career in the industry and he has a respected name in digital finance. These last months, he became a member of the “Deans List” by our partner DailyFintech, a group of global fintech leaders who will serve as ongoing advisors; and he was also summoned to join the “Stablecoins Task Force” within the Regulatory Group of the Crypto Valley Association. The mission is “to take a position and promote stablecoins for the industry towards stakeholders”.
