A vital part of any good organization are the behind the scenes players, these are the ones that are endlessly problem solving, strategically thinking and making sure our organization is functioning smoothly. In a world of social media, mass emails and electronic messaging we aim to keeping our network connected in all parts of the world. Emi Kihslinger, Director of Communications

previous Founder and Co-President of GlobeMed at the University of Wisconsin - Madison she graduated in 2013 and went on to work for various
nonprofits in Uganda, Nigeria, New York, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. Emi
recently returning to the US to start a family and apply to law
school. She is passionate about human rights, international affairs,
post-conflict reconstruction, transitional justice, and women’s
rights, and she loves being involved with GlobeMed Alumni because it
allows her to stay connected to inspiring people who are passionate
about life. Emi loves all three of her dogs equally as well as
character mac n’ cheese, good nonfiction, and yoga.

Katie Coakley, Director of Operations and Special Projects

graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a degree in Biology in 2012. During her time at GlobeMed she served as Campaign Chair, Director of Internal Communications, and globalhealthU Coordinator. After Loyola, Katie began her career working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and obtained her Master’s of Occupational Therapy from Midwestern University. She is currently employed as an occupational therapist at Loyola University Medical Center and working on publishing her research on the role of occupational therapy in supported employment of adults with intellectual disabilities. Katie is passionate about the GlobeMed Alumni Association, because she feels a strong, well-connected, and collaborative network of GlobeMed alumni is key to the fulfillment of GlobeMed’s mission to make access to healthcare a human right. In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, gardening, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her cats and dogs.

Meet your Director of Membership:

Jason Pace

All through GlobeMed Jason has worn many hats and within the GlobeMed Network that hasn’t changed. Jason is dedicated to providing support for graduating seniors or other alumni who want to re-engage in the GlobeMed Association. He also served as the Chicago Alumni Hub Director. Previously Co-President of GlobeMed at Rhodes College he graduated in 2012 to go on to work at the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant & Refugee Rights and then the Community Health Partnership of Illinois. On his free time he enjoys yoga, board games, and cooking.
