In this update, 5 nuggets from this past week. Things to know about, what to read, and how to prioritize your health.

1. Mark Your Calendars

In case you haven’t heard….the Alumni association is throwing a Digital Retreat on September 31st! It will be an opportunity to connect with other alumni, create strategy, build momentum, renew your energy and inspiration, hear from speakers and panels on topics of career development, and much more! So mark your calendars now, registration will open next week :)

2. What We’re Reading

The World Health Organization (WHO) release a Global Breastfeeding Scorecard looking at what factors prevent mother’s from breastfeeding around the world and issuing a strong call to action to all of us. Mothers need the freedom to choose to breastfeed, and global health would see enormous benefits if we all committed to making breastfeeding a more viable option for all families.

3. Hub Highlight

GlobeMed Alumni: Chicago had an awesome brunch hosted by the incomparable Priya Fremerman and Jason Pace. Everyone brought something to feed the tummy and the heart.

4. On Staying Healthy and Happy

“We’ve all seen the self-care lists that ask whether you’ve eaten, slept, or peed today — all of which are super important (or else you’d, ya know, die) — but for the quickly increasing (yay!) numbers of us who are woke, self-care often takes additional forms.

Bubble baths, fancy dinners, or breathing exercises are great — and may, indeed, be part of your self-care (go you!).

But you, like me, might also need to be unfriending a fool, reading fiction instead of The New Jim Crow, or joyfully eating something processed. #ILoveSpamYouCantStopMe “
