GlobeMed at George Washington University members Eleanor Ball, Erin Katahira, Eva Neumann, Sarah Lawrence, Dana-Lee Harrington, and Arjun Ray recently completed a hybrid, in-person and online, Grassroots Onsite/Online Work (GROW) experience in Uganda with the organization Set Her Free. The six students had a conversation reflecting on their experience, covering many topics. Eva shared that while in DC, it’s hard to see where the money from fundraising goes, and that by participating in GROW, she was given a rare opportunity to overcome that disconnect. Arjun elaborated that even though he had a virtual experience, it did not hinder his connection with the organization and movement. Watch their conversation for other highlights and memories, and the importance of chapter partnerships.
