Neuschwanstein Castle is a nineteenth-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany.

The palace was commissioned by King Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as an homage to Richard Wagner.

Who is Richard Wagner?

Richard Wagner was a famous German composer during the Romantic period. He is best known for his operas, which were very popular in his day.

Wagner’s music is characterized by its use of leitmotifs or recurring themes that represent certain characters or ideas.

His operas often deal with mythological or historical subjects and are known for their grandiose settings and dramatic effects. Source
