Amongst the Cherry Blossoms: the Perfect Paris Photo Op

What a glorious Saturday in early April: 78 degrees and sunny! The whole of Paris has sprung to life on this first warm day of the season. So I headed out on one of my favorite flâneur rambles towards the Jardin des Plantes — a long stretch of beautifully manicured gardens near the Natural History Museum. What luck! The cherry trees were in full bloom.
These are some of the biggest cherry trees I’ve ever seen. Each twig on each branch was laden with big, blousy bouquets of bright, blush-pink blossoms. The sight of them against a pure, blue sky was intoxicating. As I headed towards the biggest of them all, I noticed it was absolutely swarming with people taking pictures.
I stood a bit back from the throng, waiting for my moment to click my own shot of the blossoms without the disruption of so many faces. I quickly realized that moment was never going to…
