Delightful Visit to Missoula, Montana
including a day trip to Lincoln
In June, my partner Kevin and I spent an enjoyable week in Missoula. He had lived in Montana for nineteen years, with more than a dozen of them in Missoula at the end of his time there.
By contrast, my experience with Missoula had been limited to a single day I had spent there in 1974. To say that I didn’t remember much about it would be an understatement.
This was our first time there together since Kevin returned to his native California in 2018.
We had the good fortune to be staying with one of his friends in a neighborhood that was walkable to much of the city. Walkable to me, that is, considering that I am used to managing without a car and I easily clock in at anywhere from five to seven miles a day.
On our first full day in town, we headed to the campus of the University of Montana and walked around.
I love university campuses! This one has a mix of older and newer structures, with several under construction.
