Hi Globetrotters!

My name is Belcairn. Well, it’s not really but I’m in disguise! It feels really weird when people comment and call me Belcairn. I made this name up and there’s a reason behind it but I’m not telling you what. If you’ve worked it out I’ll be terribly impressed.

I come from Scotland originally. I spent about 10 years living in the southwest of England (I know it’s still the UK but it’s very different!) and I now live in Canada. I think it’s true that once you emigrate you are never fully at home anywhere. I feel so lucky to have had opportunities in my life to experience living in different places.

I work as a writer! There, I said it. Does it count as work if you don’t make any money? I’ve had an eclectic past, career-wise — research scientist, software designer, trainer, finance. But what I really always wanted to be was a writer. I didn’t try that until January this year so…
