“Heyyyyyy youuuuu guyyyyyssss….!!!”

As we walked from our parked car up to Mikey’s house, that’s all we heard. People were lined outside of this iconic and historic house in Astoria, Oregon saying one-liners from an all-time favorite movie, The Goonies. I can’t even count how many times I’ve watched this 1985 adventure comedy.

Mikey’s house is an important part of the beginning of the movie and I was thrilled to find out that the house still sits in the same location, looking very similar to the 1980s home in the movie. Naturally, as a huge fan, I had to make the filming locations part of our itinerary during our trip to Northern Oregon.

Our trip started in Portland for a few nights. We stopped in Astoria, which is the home to many of the set locations, on our way to our coastal retreat. After a beautiful drive through the lush, green forest, we arrived at a small pier for coffee. I looked around and noticed that almost everything seemed original.
