It’s day 3 of the Great Alaska Road Trip, and at this point we were just trying to get out of Ontario! While the province is stunning, it is also unfathomably massive, and we were looking forward to the next leg of the trip.

If you haven’t read about days 1 and 2 of our big trip, you can ready about them here:

We woke up bright and early in the Thunder Bay parking lot. Our plan was to put in a few hours of driving, then stop to do some work, and then hopefully make it to our next destination, Winnipeg, before dark.

We got to our first stop of the day just after 9am — a lovely picnic and rest area halfway between Upsala and Ignace, just over 2 hours out of Thunder Bay. There were washrooms, picnic tables, and a beautiful pond to look out on as we worked.

It was quite overcast, but we set up our solar panel to try to recharge our big battery, and got to work.
