After the visit to my Philomena Church, my second visit was to Mysore Palace, also known as Amba Vilas Palace, this place was only fifteen minutes from my hotel, which is a historical and royal residence (house). It is located in Mysore Karnataka, India. It used to be the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore. The palace is in the center of Mysore and faces the Chamundi Hills eastward. Mysore is commonly described as the ‘City of the Palaces’, with seven palaces including this one. However, the Mysore Palace refers specifically to the one within the new fort.

My visit was during festival seasons, so the palace was illuminated every day with over 100,000 lamps, providing a stunning sight, in a normal day this happens only on weekends.

To my surprise, they were also referred to as the Amba Vilas, and twelve Hindu temples also make up the complex. The site’s history is closely linked to that of the royal family of the former kingdom of Mysore, the Wadiyar dynasty. I have found that most monuments were made by the Wadiyar dynasty.
