It’s hard to believe, but there were days when we had this beach to ourselves. More about this soon.

It’s also hard to believe we’re on the final day of a 10-day stretch of glorious relaxation on Island Brač, Croatia.

My girlfriend Qin M and I are on a two-and-a-half-month wander through the beauty that is Croatia.

We’re staying for long stretches of time at locations we find beautiful, intriguing, relaxing, or all three. Come to think of it, that describes all the places we’ve been so far.

I’ve been so enraptured by the stunning loveliness of Island Brač that I’ve nearly forgotten to write about it.

We arrived by ferry from Makarska, on the Croatian mainland — into the picturesque tiny port town of Sumartin. During the 50-minute trip, the ferry’s captain kept us entertained with stories about his world travels, first in English to both of us, then in halting, but passable, Mandarin to Qin M after he inquired about her heritage.
