The idea was very simple. We wanted to take a couple of days off the grind, enjoy some good weather and savor a local delicacy.

During the weekends, there is a bandwidth of only a few hours. We were well aware that the shop would close thereafter. When you head to a place that is also referred to as Karpfenstadt (Carp City), the priority is obvious. As such, a bit of planning was required. We opted to begin our trip to Reinfeld on a Friday and have an extra day at our disposal.

Once we had made our way to the town, we did not waste a single moment. It was not about eating the fish and passing a judgment, or making a video to review it. Instead, it was about tasting the fish and relishing it.

Carp-e Diem!

Appearances can be deceptive, as can be the taste. Carp is a weird-looking fish. It resembles a carnivore, even though it is omnivorous. It would rather eat someone than otherwise. Besides, while consuming, we felt while the flesh was tender, the taste was anything but fishy. Get the drift…
