One Day Can Make a World of Difference
Chances are, you just need to give it time
It’s amazing what a difference even a day can make when travel’s involved.
Yesterday, I wanted to jump right back on a plane and fly home. I wanted to be in my own bed, with the people I know and love, where I’m comfortable and everything’s familiar.
The last thing I wanted to do was learn to navigate a new city in a new part of the world.
I’d just moved to the UK, and I was feeling a lot of different things. Excitement was there somewhere, but it was pretty far down on the list. I was overtired, emotional, jet-lagged, and wondering what on earth I’d just done.
Why do I always have to do these crazy adventures?
By this point, I was fully regretting my decision.
When I woke up this morning, everything in me was exhausted. No matter how much I tried to talk myself into getting up, my body rebelled.
I gave in to my tired eyes and aching body and rolled over in bed, and before I knew it, I was asleep again.
This went on for hours—and I probably could have spent my whole day like that—but I did eventually break the spell.
