When I wrote about my hometown on Globetrotters, I wrote about San Diego. That was because San Diego is familiar to most people, and frankly, there was more to write about.

San Diego is indeed a wonderful place with so much to offer.

I don’t actually live in San Diego, but I do live in San Diego County in the unincorporated town of Ramona, which is one of many towns that get rolled up as all part of San Diego.

But, I think I short-changed my small town.

And that my little countryside town deserved better from me.

So allow me a chance to tell you about a “Little Town with a Big Heart.”

We moved here eighteen years ago after living in the city for four years, where our backyard backed up to twelve lanes of Interstate 15.

I’ll let your imagination decide what that was like.

We don’t hear cars and traffic now; we hear horses, cows, roosters, owls, hawks, and one crazy donkey.
