What I Like About You…Duluth, Minnesota!

After spending two days in this Northern Minnesota city, we found plenty to like. Find out what stood out to us in this post.

Canal Park Accommodations

Duluth has a long and beautiful waterfront area. It has a boardwalk that is well cared for and lined with native prairie flowers. There are wide paths for walking, biking, or horse and carriage rides — three separate paths.

We stayed at Canal Park Lodge with a lakefront room. Our window looked out over the boardwalk and onto Lake Superior. Gorgeous — despite the constant haze we’ve had this summer from Canadian wildfires.

There are numerous hotels to choose from in Duluth — some are waterfront and some are more in the environs of the city proper.

The boardwalk leads to the iconic lift bridge that lets huge ships carrying iron ore into and out of the Duluth port. This city has a long and successful history in shipping and I’ll explore that in a future post.
