Meet “So Mu La,” an intern hailing from the town of Mae Sot in Myanmar. His commitment to learning and the desire to uplift educational standards in the Mae Sot community have led him to embark on a new journey at Globish.

Our first encounter with Mu La was a year ago in Mae Sot during the G Project: Pa Sa Thai. Serving as a translator and assistant teacher for Imagine Thailand Foundation, Mu La assisted Globies in teaching the Thai language to young Myanmar refugees residing in Thailand.

Mu La joined Globish Workspace for an internship in Bangkok. His role involves designing teaching materials tailored to the needs of Myanmar students and teachers, aiming to enhance their learning experience beyond previous standards. Let’s get to know him better together.

“Hi everyone, allow me to introduce myself. I am Mula, a passionate intern at Globish in Bangkok. I am from a small town called Mae Sot. I’ve always had an insatiable thirst for adventure and new experiences. So when the opportunity arose to intern at Globish, I jumped at the chance!

As an individual with a love for languages and cultural immersion, joining Globish was like finding my calling. You see, my journey began as a language enthusiast who wanted to explore different cultures while honing my linguistic skills. Little did I know that this internship would offer so much more than just that.

At Globish, every day is filled with excitement and learning opportunities. From preparing Thai language classes for migrating students to being able to communicate in Thai, no two days are alike. This dynamic environment has allowed me to gain invaluable practical experience that complements Thai classes.

But it’s not just about preparing for Thai classes; it’s also about the incredible people you meet along the way. The team at Globish is diverse, supportive, and nurturing; they truly make you feel like part of their family from day one.

Now let’s talk about growth! At Globish, personal development is highly encouraged and celebrated. They provide various training sessions designed specifically for interns to enhance their skills in areas such as leadership, communication, and problem-solving. Additionally, being surrounded by experienced professionals allows us interns to learn from their expertise on a daily basis.

The benefits don’t stop there; we get plenty of opportunities for networking too! Whether it’s connecting with fellow interns or building relationships with students from all around the world during social events organized by Globish, these connections have proven invaluable both personally and professionally.

Taepal, an awesome Globie who is my host during my internship, made it feel like a home away from home!

The family I’ve been staying with while interning at Globish is amazing and wonderful. They always make sure that I am happy with my job. They told me, ‘You can’t only work.’ So, on my day off, I play frisbee with them every Saturday and have dinner together.

For me, it will be an unforgettable internship experience that combines adventure with personal growth while making lifelong friendships along the way. Look no further than interning at Globish in Bangkok!"

“I believe that when I return to my small town, I will be able to create some opportunities for students to practice their language skills. I am so grateful for the opportunity. Thank you so much to all my friends.”

Mu La’s internship journey is a testament to the transformative power of education and compassion. By bridging the communication gap and empowering migrant children in Mae Sot, the team is creating pathways to a better life.

It has ignited a spark, and as a united community, we will continue to make changes to Thailand’s educational system, driven not by nationality but by a shared passion for creating a better future for all.
