The 20th annual Gloucester County Water Fest is Sunday, June 4, at Scotland Run Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Water Fest is the official parks and recreation’s summer program kick-off event and is the perfect opportunity for families and friends to enjoy a fun day outdoors,” Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said.

“We live in a beautiful region and Water Fest offers a lot of tips on what we can do to keep the environment clean and heathy for future generations,” said Freeholder Frank J. DiMarco, liaison to the Department of Parks and Recreation.

This year’s festivities include three live animal shows beginning at noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., face painting from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and canoeing and kayaking from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be a scavenger hunt, craft tables, food and nature trails throughout the day.

DiMarco said this year a concert has been added to the daylong event. Attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the county’s best singer songwriters and performers for the Concert on the Beach starting at 3:30 p.m.

This event is free of charge and is held rain or shine. Scotland Run Park is located at 980 East Academy Street, Clayton.
