Here at Glow, we keep our eyes on a few metrics to track the success of podcasts growing with Refer-O-Matic. One of them is Referral Rate. Referral Rate is the average number of times a listener shares the podcast with a friend who checks out the show.

In other words:

Referral Rate = Number of successful referrals / Number of referrers

We like to think of this as the viral coefficient of a podcast. For every listener who signs up to share your podcast for rewards, how many friends do they share it with?

Referral Rate is a result of a lot of factors. But, if your show has a high Referral Rate, it means one thing has to be true: Your listeners love your show so much that they go out of their way to tell their friends about it.
