Harnessing the Power of Community: A Questing System through Discord

Discord is a hub for conversation, collaboration, and connection in thriving online communities. But beyond its well-known features, Discord also presents an incredible platform for fostering engagement through a dynamic questing system. We will transform our Discord community into an interactive, adventure-filled landscape by integrating events, games, and social media raiding.

Bridging Connections through Social Media Raiding

Social media raiding, where a group from GMFAM simultaneously interacts with a specific social media post or platform, will form a part of our questing system.

For instance, a quest could involve raiding a post on our community’s Instagram or Twitter, leaving comments, or participating in a discussion. Another could involve supporting a FAM member’s YouTube stream or TikTok video. These raids boost GMFAM’s social media presence and foster camaraderie and joint accomplishment.

Leveling Up Engagement with Games and Events

Events are vital to our questing system. Upcoming events as such will be, but are not excluded to, server-wide scavenger hunts or a themed trivia night; these events offer opportunities to participate in quests and earn rewards.

Games add an element of fun and competitiveness to our questing system. We will start to host game nights regularly featuring popular games that resonate with our community.

Navigating the Questing Journey

GMFAM requires a clear system for tracking everyone’s progress while navigating these quests. For this purpose, several new bots are and will be integrated into the GMFAM Discord server.

Some of these are:

  Added features are a customized GMFAM bot, Web3 functionality, a leveling system, and invite trackers.
• GiselleBot
  Added features are temporary and customizable private raid rooms.
• Mimu / Tatsu
  Features that will be added here are a customized GMFAM-specific informal economy ecosystem and gaming elements. The implementation will happen in several stages to ensure a coherent balance with other features.

Introducing the New Leveling System

Our latest Questing article introduced squads, and after a community vote, the name 'GM Guardian' was chosen as the squad leader. As a result, the GM Guardian now holds the highest obtainable community role.

As a GM Guardian, your role is to bring together active and positive members of the GMFAM community to join your team. Currently, there will only be 10 GM Guardians in the entire community (starting with 5), and each Guardian can have up to 5 members (known as GM Initiates) on their team. Expanding the squad will be possible as the squad becomes more active, earns experience points and server currency, and collects new roles.

  - Minimum 5 members must hold the role Morning Mentor

Introducing Active Raids

One effective way to increase visibility for the GMFAM brand is through social media raids. Passive raids involve sharing links to influencer posts and can be highly effective at different times across various time zones.

However, active raids will immediately impact very recent posts by influencers. Hence GMFAM will now be combining passive raids with active raids.

To facilitate this, the GiselleBot will prove herself extremely useful. Now it is possible to create temporary raid rooms where the GM Guardian can do a share screen showing the social media posts to be raided. This way, a high number of raids can be executed within a relatively short time.

They are also increasing the engagement between raiders within the community. This system also challenges GM Guardians to establish a strong team around themselves with people from the same timezone or similar activity periods.

Rewards

As you accumulate roles, server currencies, items, reputation, and more, you will earn rewards and special privileges within the GMFAM community. Other rewards that will be integrated within the questing system are exclusive access to GMFAM events, NFT whitelist tickets and guaranteed mint spots, $GMFAM tokens, but also the GMFAM NFTs themselves.
