It’s finally dappening! The DappCon program is live, and we can’t wait to see you there.

Tomorrow the second edition of DappCon, a global conference focused on decentralized applications and toolings on Ethereum, officially kicks off. Last year, the conference brought together more than 600 developers, researchers, and Ethereum enthusiasts to explore the latest and greatest technical developments and collectively imagine a decentralized future.

This year we’ve upped the ante. We will be hosting more than twice as many attendees and offering a fuller, more in-depth program of talks, workshops and network events, spread across three days and two tracks.

To ensure you make the most of your DappCon experience, here’s a list of conference talks, workshops, and panels that cater to different themes and interests. We hope this helps you break down some of the upcoming action!

Be sure to check out our governance track, with interesting discussions like—

“The legally-compliant DAO: More hype than substance”
21 August, MainChain Stage, 15:00h
Researchers, professors and top legal experts — all with extensive experience in policy for new technologies — come together to discuss the trials and tribulations of creating legal frameworks for DAOs. Featuring: Constance Choi from Seven Advisory, professor Iris Wuisman of Leiden University, Aaron Wright from ConsenSys, Beth McCarthy from the Starfish Network, Ameen Soleimani from MolochDAO and Gnosis’s own lawyer-in-residence Silk Noa Elrifai, who will moderate.

“Governance design for positive stakeholder engagement and preventing contemptuous hard forks during platform upgrades”
22 August, MainChain Stage, 11:15h
Don’t miss Dr. Stephanie Hurder discuss the latest research on designing governance to create positive stakeholder engagement. Dr. Hurder is a founding economist of Prisym Group, a firm that specializes in economic and governance design for DLT-based initiatives.

—and we’ve got the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) hype covered with a series of talks including—

“Why finance can be better on Ethereum: Complexity and systemic risk” 22 August, SideChain Stage, 16:20h
Ethan Bennet, an integrations Dev with MakerDAO — the protocol behind DAI, one of Ethereum’s biggest stablecoins — breaks down the benefits inherent to the crypto market.

“How staking-as-a-service bridges DeFi for mainstream”
21 August, SideChain Stage, 17:10h
Be sure to catch Stani Kulechov, CEO and founder of Aave, muse on how to bring decentralized financing to the masses.

And looking to get hands-on? Don’t miss our day of workshops on the 23rd, featuring—

“How to become an Ethereum core developer” (Day 3, August 23, Rinkeby 50, H2037, 13:00h); guided by Alexey Akhunov and Dimitry Khoklov from Ledgerwatch.

“Conditional tokens — hands-on training on a new binding library” (Day 3, August 23, Ropsten, H2035, 12:00h); guided by Raphael Mazet and Jakup Wojciechowski from Alice, a social funding platform that operates through blockchain technology.

“Legal AMA session: Token Engineering” (Day 3, August 23, Ropsten, H2035, 17:00h); learn about the tools needed to analyze and design tokenized ecosystems.

For networking, cocktail drinking and other (tasty) miscellany, be sure to scope out—

Networking and Drinks
21 August, Atrium, 18:00-20:00h
Schmooze it up with some of the brightest in the ecosystem at DappCon’s cocktail hour. Enjoy refreshments, appetizers and great conversation in the TU’s large and airy atrium.

DappCon After Party
22 August, Hoppetosse, 22:00h
Ain’t no party like a DappCon party. After two full days of binging on massive amounts of information, let loose with your fellow DappConers at the Hoppetosse, a boat-turned-club that offers an awesome deck-side view of the Spree. On the docket: a DJ, free drinks, and copious amounts of fun. For DappCon ticket holders only.

Ice cream!
21–23 August, Atrium, ALL DAY EVERYDAY
Because what is a conference without a literal truckload of deliciously churned milk, am I right? Paletas will be on the scene with their much-beloved gourmet ice pops. Also to keep on your snack radar — the popcorn stand in front of the MainChain Stage.

Of course we couldn’t highlight all the awesome stuff planned for the conference. Something you’re looking forward to that we missed here? Let us know on Twitter using the hashtag #itsdappening.

DappCon tickets give you entrance to DappCon, ETHBerlin, TEGG and the Decentralised Storage Summit. Check out the full program today.
