DappCon 2020: You’ve got NFT!
Get ready for a surprise!
🎟 DappCon’s third edition comes with some changes!
We’re happy to have partnered with Mintbase to provide your conference tickets. That means this year, you can only buy your ticket as a crypto NFT. Designs differ based on your ticket status (speaker, sponsor, volunteer, etc.), and there’s a limit of 700 tickets in total being sold — no more, no less. Since tickets will be NFTs, you can simply resell them on marketplaces like OpenSea in case of last minute changes in your plans.
If you are a blockchain newbie, it’s time to get your first wallet address, and we want to make that process easy. Using Fortmatic, you can still do a simple credit card payment, but you will inescapably obtain your first wallet address and NFT. In case redeeming your NFT is still a bit too much of a wiggly road for you, you will be sent a simple QR code. However, you won’t be able to escape the full on dapp experience for long…
🗳 The greatest of all NFT achievements: this year the conference’s content is not curated entirely by us, but also by YOU! Your NFT ticket gives you the ability to vote on the speakers YOU want to see on stage. When applying to speak, applicants are given the opportunity to decide whether they’d also want to take part in DappCon’s community curated track. If so, their applications are considered both by us and by ticket holders, for a track that’s 100% curated by the community.
👩💻👨💻 Here for our hard working builders, new and seasoned alike: we’re still deep down into core infrastructure and applications development, so to keep YOUR interests at heart and give YOU more room in the program, we will run workshops on developer tools, scaling solutions, and more throughout all three days of the conference this year.
👨🔧👩🔬D’you think that’s it? Nope! We’re DAPPcon, so we gotta put some more focus on dapps this year! We want all attendees to play around with at least ~25 dapps during the 3 conference days. Each dapp should naturally add some value to the conference experience. To give an example: Trustlines will help people and projects connect for UX testing of Dapps. We will create a small, incentivized credit network for this purpose.
This means that you will both learn about exciting new Dapps, and earn UX testing credit while contributing your time! As a project or a company looking for testers, you will have an easier time attracting new people to test your Dapp. The UX testing credit can then be exchanged for more testing, or unique prices only redeemable with Trustlines.

🌴To make sure everyone has enough time for dapp testing, networking, and chilling in the sun next to the Spree river (that’s right, we’re right next to the water), we’re giving you longer coffee breaks in between talks and workshops to enjoy all conference activities — including ice cream tasting.
