Given the epic, insightful results from our last Olympia prediction market tournament, we will be running tournaments on a regular basis, starting September 2018 with Berlin Blockchain Week and ETHBerlin. With each Olympia, we’d like to introduce new tools, smart contracts and market mechanisms, and integrate new wallets and other dApps. From round to round, participants will be able to test the latest features on our prediction market framework.

As Martin, CEO at Gnosis, mentioned in his most recent blog post: “The numbers we care about is the usage of decentralized applications. And as a next step, the number to look out for is dApps that seamlessly interact with each other and draw a benefit from being on the same platform.”

For the upcoming Olympia during Berlin Blockchain Week/ETHBerlin, we’d like you to suggest prediction market questions on topics that you find most interesting — taking advantage of the expertise knowledge at ETHBerlin!

Send us your prediction market ideas HERE and be rewarded with BRLNCoins! These can be used as a tipping system for mentors and speakers of the event, and as a a means of interaction between ETHBerlin attendees. Apart from its use during ETHBerlin, the coin will also serve as a token of value throughout blockchain events and educational programs taking place around Berlin this year and beyond.

Olympia at DappCon

This year’s DappCon attendees got a very special taste of the latest dApp development in prediction markets. We gave out unique EtherCards loaded with a balance of OLY tokens, Olympia’s official play-money token, which attendees then used to make predictions and climb up the scoreboard.

Olympia branded EtherCards.

Sitting amongst Ethereum developers in the packed workshop a.k.a Buidl room, we were thrilled to see people switch between their code and Olympia’s prediction markets on the various topics around the conference — from questions on the ecosystem, panel discussions, talks, workshops, to attendees and dApps.

One of the most popular markets surveyed a dApp expectation, asking how many Cryptokitties would be claimed during a workshop challenge:

As it turned out, the market also served as an insightful real-time feedback loop to Johann who led the workshop:
