In a previous article GNY explored how “wisdom of the crowd” has evolved as a scientific theory and the conditions it needs to operate. WOTC suggests that the estimates of a crowd of individuals often outperforms that of a single expert, and the guesses must be comprised of a capable crowd, defined by these core features:

  • Independence
  • Decentralization
  • Opinion Diversity
  • Trust
  • Aggregation

GNY has been experimenting with these concepts for some time, and how they can be incorporated into its machine learning models to improve forecasting accuracy. We are now building a game that would embody all of the aspects necessary to ensure powerful WOTC data.

GNY builds powerful technology at the intersection of blockchain and machine learning. Our customer-facing products are focused on AI-powered forecasting and indicators for crypto traders. Our sister project, LML, was envisioned as a suite of tools to harness, transform and share data securely and powerfully. LML is the perfect vehicle for the WOTC tool. This tool, a game called “Man Vs Machina”, will be the first in a series of tools to be developed for LML.

The core of Man Vs Machina challenges users to outperform GNY’s ML engine for the chance to win prizes and best each other. By placing a personal prediction for what they believe the high and the low will be for the price of Bitcoin (and later a range of cryptocurrencies) within a specified 24 hr window, players can win prizes and bragging rights. The players pit themselves against other humans, plus the “final boss”, which is GNY’s neural network and its machine learning-driven price predictions. In the game, GNY’s neural networks are personified by the “GNY Queen”, a fun pixel-drawn character who encourages and taunts the players in equal measure.

With Bitcoin still holding as the most important force in the crypto markets, the desire to predict its price is irresistible. Collective guesses become daily new data points that contribute to the GNY Range Report, providing both utility and value to the LML chain, while further improving GNY’s trading indicators.

The GNY Range Report is the leading AI-powered crypto report, and WOTC data from Man Vs. Machina will power new forecasting models for users at gnyrr.com

The technology behind this gamified WOTC data collection will be expanded to other cryptocurrencies in the future, and also serves as the first point of minting and utilizing Data NFTs in the GNY data ecosystem for the LML chain. A subsequent paper will detail the tokenomic aspects.

Man Vs. Machina will be developed in partnership with The Distance UK, the award-winning app developers that built and launched the GNY Mobile Wallet last year (as well as mobile apps for Bentley and other major brands). GNY’s continued collaboration with The Distance will again elevate this project to a beautiful, easy to play, and highly interactive and addictive game. This mobile app will allow for on-the-go engagement from users and achieve best in class UX, interface, and mobile design.

The GNY Mobile Wallet was developed by the Distance UK and can be downloaded on the App Store and Google Play.

We anticipate that gamified trading and WOTC data will become increasingly important as crypto trading becomes more mainstream. GNY will continue to provide engaging, innovative, and powerful technologies to advance this wave.
