Behind the Scenes of CODE BLUE Series
On the ground in Arizona, Anna & Code Blue investigate climate change and water security in new docu-series
PHOENIX, ARIZONA — Fovrth’s Anna Therese Day went to Arizona to host an episode of the Code Blue docu-series on climate change and water security. The team traveled across Arizona to examine the state’s greatest threat: water scarcity exacerbated by man-made climate change and the unregulated extraction and export of the resource to foreign countries.
On their shoot, they met lawmakers, representatives from the agricultural sector, and national security professionals, as well as community organizers and academics imagining and realizing a more resilient future.
On location, Anna traveled with Director/Producer/Creator of Code Blue, Alex Cornell du Houx, a veteran and former Maine state legislator. Given his national security background, Cornell du Houx founded Code Blue after the realization that water insecurity and climate change are inseparable. He hopes the series will tackle both the challenges from and solutions to climate change, as “water security is national security.”
The team included Scott Hamann (Director of Photography), Shannon Hunter Strickland (Video & Photography) and Maleah Raquelle (Video & Photography), in addition to Alex and Anna. This episode focuses on foreign extraction of Arizona’s water supply, specifically by Saudi Arabia, and the implications for the future of the desert state.
