This week my parents came to visit me in Croatia and see Remote Year in action. While we were exploring some of the nearby islands, one of the work deals that my mom was working on blew up. She responded to emails while we walked through narrow white-paved Croatian streets and took conference calls overlooking the Adriatic Sea just a few steps away from my dad and me sipping white wine before dinner.
The next morning as we sat together eating breakfast, the Mediterranean sun warmed us up and tropical birds sang out amongst the flowers. My mom sighed and said she wasn’t “ready to go back to the real world.” I looked at her and told her that she didn’t have to! She just spent the last two days working hard WHILE exploring the new places and having amazing experiences.
