GoChain is excited to announce the that leading governance expert, David R. Koenig, has joined our advisory team.
Koenig, known for his innovative work and writing, including the critically acclaimed book Governance Reimagined, will help the company to build-out its best-in-class governance model. Over the last few months the importance of sound blockchain governance has come to the forefront. Users’ experience of the governance of major blockchains bears out that such governance remains an unresolved best practices question.
Koenig’s work, in addition to being an author, includes having served on multiple boards, founding and running two global professional associations, including the Directors and Chief Risk Officers group (“the DCRO”) which is focused on risk governance best practices at the board level, serving as a Research Fellow and member of the Executive Advisory Board of the Center for Corporate Performance at the IIT Stuart School of Business in Chicago, an editorial board member and special editor at the Journal of Risk Management in Financial Institutions, Founding Principal of governance and trust analytics firm The Governance Fund, and decades of helping organizations to take risk better.

Koenig was selected as the recipient of the 2008 Higher Standard Award by the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association — the top honor awarded by that institution. In 2010, his idea of Risk Capital as Commons: Distributive and Networked Governance was honored as one of the winners (honorable mention) of the inaugural M-Prize for Management Innovation from the Management Innovation eXchange (MIX). The MIX program is a hack-based, open-innovation and collaboration approach to improving how organizations are run. It was founded by Gary Hamel of the London Business School, who Fortune magazine called “the world’s leading expert on business strategy.” Because of his innovative approach to risk and governance, David has been invited to present his ideas at more than 100 events on five continents
