Stop Trying, Asking and Waiting

You can’t help everyone

You have a dream.

In this dream you are the head of a game changing company, where you are compared to your idol Steve Jobs as being the innovator of your industry. Your company analytics are growing every day. Your employees work HARD to make whatever you ask of them happen. Profits are up. Life is good. People love you. As a matter of fact, you have people BEGGING to work for YOU!

Back in the real world, it’s a real downer…actually it’s downright confusing when you offer to help people be a part of your success story and their response, if they respond at all, is meh. But if you really think about it, I mean sincerely look at examples of real world success stories, the people involved in the making of the product are not the people you see in press. The people who are applauded are the people who created the product against all odds, naysayers and blue-chip players.

But what about the message to George from Clarence in It’s a Wonderful Life?

[Inscribed in a copy of Tom Sawyer] “Dear George, remember no man is a failure who has friends. Thanks for the wings, Love Clarence.”

If you recall, Clarence was not a welcomed or expected friend of George when they first met. Nope. Clarence was there to STOP George from going down the path he was on and practically forced him to change. Now, since most of us are NOT angels, like Clarence, putting this much effort into saving a person from themselves could have negative outcomes in our normal lives.

So, STOP TRYING to be an Angel to others and start being a Champion for yourself.
