According to New Jersey resident Ruth Mirre, age 81, the verdict is in on GoGoGrandparent’s previously announced public-private partnership: “I think it’s fabulous!” she says, “It gives you more freedom and it enhances your life so you can stay in your community longer.” She further explains:

“It has nothing to do with whether you can drive, it’s whether you want to drive. And if you don’t go out at night anymore because you’re afraid, or your cataracts prevent you from seeing the lines on the road, this is perfect.”

Ms. Mirre’s story is highlighted in a local PBS news story that explains how the cities of Chatham Borough, Township and Madison have partnered with GoGoGrandparent to provide older residents with $5 rides. Watch the full story below!

GoGoGrandparent is honored to be able to help local leaders reach their goal of supporting older residents aging in their home:

“Transportation is a major issue in almost everything that anybody talks about. And with seniors in particular, a lot of the senior transportation that does exist is geared toward medical, and there’s nothing for social, which is so important. We want to have seniors age in place,” said TransOptions President John Ciaffone.

We look forward to continuing to support Ms. Mirre and the hundreds of others that have benefitted from the Tri-Town partnership. Could your community benefit from a similar arrangement? Please get in touch!

GoGoGrandparent helps older adults maintain their independence by accessing on-demand services like Uber & Lyft with a simple phone call (no smartphone required). Rides are available 24/7 in every state and usually cost 35% less than a taxi. There’s no charge to register, so get ready for your first ride today on our website or by calling toll-free 1 (855) 464–6872.
