Tees Valley Community Foundation is helping to tackle financial barriers towards becoming environmentally sustainable, through providing a bursary scheme in partnership with Going Green Together.

Fifteen bursaries have been established to cover the cost of VCSE sector organisations taking part in Going Green Together’s Become Green Together programme.

The programme guides organisations step-by-step through the process of creating and implementing an environmental strategy over 12 months. Participants benefit from accreditation with Investors in the Environment so that they can share what level of sustainability they are at, and will gain a detailed understanding of their carbon footprint and how to reduce it.

Through this process, organisations will be prepared for changes to legislation and procurement, meet funder requirements, find ways to reduce their energy and resource usage, and learn alongside regional and local peers.

With over 60 organisations taking part across the North East and Cumbria, the programme is keen to bring further Tees Valley-based organisations onboard, to support them in their environmental journeys and learn how to support them into the future.

To register interest for a bursary and confirm your eligibility, please email the project coordinator, Nathaniel Spain, at nathaniel.spain@vonne.org.uk.

The final round of applications to Become Green Together closes on the 30th September 2023. You can read more about the opportunity and how to apply through the Going Green Together website.
