We’ve been delighted to have the opportunity to share information about the second phase of Going Green Together with organisations across the North East and Cumbria through a series of launch events over the past two weeks. These events covered our upcoming plans, including new material for the Going Green Together website, and announced the opening of applications for Become Green Together, our programme which provides subsidised environmental training and a chance to join a dedicated support network. You can find out more about Become Green Together and apply now.

We were also joined by several of our partners. Jo Holmes of Genee spoke at our in-person event in Wallsend about accreditation with Investors in the Environment, which will be provided for participants of Become Green Together from September 2022. Quentin Merritt of Cumbria Action for Sustainability gave an overview of the Carbon Literacy Training CAfS will be providing at our online Cumbria launch event. More news about how to sign up for this training will be coming soon!

It was a pleasure to discuss with attendees their views on climate action, the ways their organisations could improve their environmental credentials, the barriers our sector faces, and how to consider climate justice in the actions we take. It was an excellent opportunity to get a taste of what our expanded peer support network will look like, and highlight the kind of support organisations within our sector will find useful in becoming greener.

Thank you to everyone who attended these sessions. If you would like to be notified of our future events, you can sign up to our mailing list today.
